About us

The Directorate General of European Funds is the Central Government Body responsible for the study, assessment and co-ordination of how the Community Structural Funds, in particular the ERDF and the Cohesion Fund are applied in Spain, notwithstanding the competences in this matter that other Government bodies may have.

It also oversees the management of Regional Incentives and financial and budgetary relations with the European Union.

The management and follow-up of Funds encompasses the three objectives of the Community Cohesion Policy:

  • Convergence
  • Regional competitiveness and employment
  • European territorial cooperation
